Reconstructing étale groupoids from semigroups

چکیده
Abstract We unify various étale groupoid reconstruction theorems such as the following: • Kumjian and Renault’s from a C*-algebra; Exel’s an ample inverse semigroup; Steinberg’s ring; Choi, Gardella Thiel’s Lp {L^{p}} -algebra. do this by working with certain bumpy semigroups S of functions defined on G . The semigroup structure together diagonal subsemigroup D then yields natural domination relation xmlns:m="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML">? {\prec} -ultrafilters is isomorphic to original

Noetherian and Artinian ordered groupoids - semigroups
Chain conditions, finiteness conditions, growth conditions, and other forms of finiteness, Noetherian rings and Artinian rings have been systematically studied for commutative rings and algebras since 1959. In pursuit of the deeper results of ideal theory in ordered groupoids (semigroups), it is necessary to study special classes of ordered groupoids (semigroups). Noetherian ordered groupoids (...
متن کاملSelfdistributive groupoids Part D1: Left distributive semigroups
Every semilattice (i.e., an idempotent commutative semigroup) is selfdistributive. An explicit formulation of this fact (perhaps for the first time) can be found already in C. S. Pierce [Pie,80]. A structural study of two-sided selfdistributive semigroups was initiated in M. Petrich [Pet,69] and that of one-sided selfdistributive semigroups ten years later in S. Markovski [Mar,79]. Altogether, ...
متن کاملC∗-ACTIONS OF r-DISCRETE GROUPOIDS AND INVERSE SEMIGROUPS
Many important C∗-algebras, such as AF-algebras, Cuntz-Krieger algebras, graph algebras and foliation C∗-algebras, are the C∗-algebras of r-discrete groupoids. These C∗-algebras are often associated with inverse semigroups through the C∗-algebra of the inverse semigroup [HR90] or through a crossed product construction as in Kumjian’s localization [Kum84]. Nica [Nic94] connects groupoid C∗-algeb...
متن کاملÉtale groupoids and their quantales
We establish a close and previously unknown relation between quantales and groupoids, in terms of which the notion of étale groupoid is subsumed in a natural way by that of quantale. In particular, to each étale groupoid, either localic or topological, there is associated a unital involutive quantale. We obtain a bijective correspondence between localic étale groupoids and their quantales, whic...
